There are some breeders who will charge an outlandish high price for their puppies.   I
accidentally fell on one of these sights where I saw the very beautiful kennel set up and
I thought how nice everything was. If a dog had to live in a kennel, that was certainly
one of the best Ive ever seen. I had to press on and look further. Then it showed some
puppy mill situations. The sort of places I have seen and detest. The sort of places I
have taken dogs out of when I have the money to do so. Then I saw what the owner of
this web sight had to say about it. The comment was made that might be misleading. I
would like to clear up any misunderstanding this web sight might cause. The add
implied that people who charge bargain prices for their dogs must force their dogs to
live in puppy mill conditions. The problem is most people out there would have bargain
prices on their puppies compared to the prices they are charging. I know mine would be
bargain priced compared to this place. So here I am to stand up for myself and all other
home breeders like me. My dogs do not live in kennels like the puppy mill kennels. I do
not have 50-60 dogs to make it necessary to put up expensive kennels for my dogs to
live in. I hate to see dogs living in kennels all their lives no matter how nice a kennel it
is. The prettier the kennel the prettier the prison. My dogs are my pets. They live in my
house. They get their playtime outside  and their sleep time in their rooms. They watch
T.V. with us and get to do tricks for us to get treats thrown their way. They bark
greetings as we come in the door and warn us when strangers come near the house.
They do all the things a family pet should do. I will not have so many dogs that I can not
treat them as pets. They get to eat expensive food and home made treats. They are
very close to being like my children. I would never make them walk on a grid floor and I
would never make them live their whole lives in a kennel.
Of course with this many dogs I do have to have them separated into their rooms when
I am not around to supervise. Mama dogs have to have a safe area to have their
babies and raise them. All these things cost money. I will always keep my prices low as
possible and still be able to give my dogs the care they deserve.
I love the dogs, the puppies and maybe being able to make a positive impact on the
future of the breed. I will find other ways to make my living.
A dog is worth more to some people if they want a show quality dog. You can not even
guess if a dog is going to be able to be shown until after the 6th month. A 6 week old
puppy, no matter who its parents are, can not be sold as show quality. If the parents
are show dogs themselves, then they can be show prospect. Maybe charging a little
more for these dogs is warranted. Really these puppies should go to only show dog
people so very few of the puppies born will be show quality. Most will be pets.
Having a champion pedigree does not mean the puppies will be show prospect. Ive
seen some dogs with champion pedigrees who only resemble their breed. They
become champions by going to several shows and being chosen as the best dog there.
Sometimes a dog is chosen because his looks are the lesser of 2 evils so to speak. All
in all it is still a pretty good way to chose a dog you want to look a certain way but does
not warrant a price hike.
Charging more for a dog does not guarantee it a happy home as some celebrities have
proven with their pets. I have heard this said by many breeders. To think like this is
rationalizing.  I knew a senior man who was poor as dirt. But his animals were well
cared for, in his clean home, from his smallest rodent to his biggest dog. He thought
himself a man of priviledge to have all these wonderful creatures living with him. He
said this (his animal friends) is his wealth. Everything else he had was just things. I may
not completely agree with him, but I would rather see one of my puppies live here then
in the house of some one with a large bank account who prefers to let the dog die then
make a dent in his savings.
I am not implying that all wealthy people or celebrities are cold hearted enough to do
this. People are just people and money makes no difference on what is in their hearts.
We all make decisions based on what is in our hearts not our bank accounts. Please
consider though what is in your account before you take on the responsibility of a dog.
Unfortunately, dogs are legally considered property that you must maintain. Sense they
are property, you will not get government help when it comes time for their medical
needs but may be held accontable if you allow them to suffer.

Again, This is just my opinion.
