To reserve a puppy,
In the state of Florida it is illegal to take a deposit on a puppy before they are 8
weeks old and have a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian. This law is
to protect consumers from the many frauds that are out there in the dog for sale
world. However It also makes it hard for consumers to reserve the puppy they
want. It is also hard on the few of us breeders who follow the law sense most
consumers will buy their puppy from someone who will brake the law and pre
sell their puppy.  This is what I have decided to do to make it possible for you to
reserve a puppy and still not brake any laws.
Before the puppy is 4 weeks old I will make a list of people who are interested in
a puppy from this litter. Once on this list, you will be informed of any updates as
far as pictures and videos. Really anything that happens with the litter you will
be told about. You can come visit the puppies after they are 3 weeks old if you
like but I prefer people not be around them before this because it upsets the
mamas so much. You have a right to inspect the way I keep my dogs and ask any
questions about what I do. Don't be shy. I am very proud of the way I care for my
dogs and I feel you have a right to know how well I take care of my adults and
how your puppy spent his first weeks of life.   When the puppies are 4 weeks old
I will ask you to purchase a puppy starter kit for $50. One kit is made for each
puppy in the litter and will have their ID name on it. Once you buy the starter kit,
the puppy will be reserved for you.
In the past. I always sent the puppies home with a puppy starter gift bag . This
contains such items as the food they have been eating, toys, blankets Nutrastat
(vitamin and hypoglycemia help) some info about your particular dog and your
breed in general. To buy these things yourself, you will easily pay $50 or more. I
always considered the price of this pack along with the price of the puppy. But I
am now going to sell the puppy starter kits in advance. When you pick up your
puppy  the money paid for the kit will be deducted from the final price of the
puppy.  So if the price of the puppy is $400. you buy the puppy kit for $50 (or
more if you prefer) and you pay $350 for the puppy when you pick him/her up. If
you decide to change your mind about the puppy, you keep the puppy kit. I will
not refund the $50. Remember these kits are worth as much if not more then the
$50 your paying so you will not really be losing anything.
You must pay at least $50 + $10 shipping and handling for the kit. You may pay
more if you wish. All except the $10 shipping will be deducted from the final
price of the puppy. The kit will be sent to you in that week. If you wish to come
see your puppy before deciding to buy him, all money you pay for the kit will be
deducted from the final price of the puppy.  No shipping will be charged. I will
not reimburse the money paid for the kits.
When you pick up your puppy you should be well informed about how to care for
it and be ready to take it home. You will receive a health certificate, registration
papers (if any) and any pack the vet gives with the certificate.
My puppy kits generally include such things as toys your puppy has shown
interest in, blanket, food dishes, puppy collar, lead, T shirt or other clothing, the
food they have been eating along with instructions on how to feed them, helpful
information about products on the market and things to look for as they grow up.
I also include a copy of the Florida state law pertaining to the sale of puppies.
Each puppy shows different personality traits and the products I put in the bag
and the info I give you will be made up for your puppies special personality.  A
shy dog, for instance, can be helped to overcome his shyness if certain things
are done to help him with this. Is your dog an alpha dog or laid back? You will
have an opportunity to know what to expect before you bring your puppy home.
This is a win win situation for you the consumer. You don't have to come up with
hundreds of dollars like other breeders ask for just to hold a puppy. You are not
subject to any scams as no money is taken by me without you getting something
in return.

It is best to not decide on any puppy before the 4th week. There is not much
you can tell about a puppy before this. I have seen blue puppies turn fawn. I
have seen brown puppies turn black. I've seen the smallest puppy in the
litter become the largest puppy at 8 weeks and be huge as adults. I've seen
the largest puppy grow at a slower rate and end up being tiny. And still they
are healthy.  Certain birth defects are not noticed when a puppy is born and
show up later. If you reserve a puppy at birth from someone you don't know,
you are setting yourself up to lose your money if you change your mind or if
the puppy dies. By 4 weeks the puppies should be eating dry dog food or at
least moist food. They should have been walking for a while and
personalities should be showing. They start interacting with each other at 3-4
weeks which further shows intelligence and personality. Color is generally
seen by then although it may become a lighter or darker shade as it grows.
Alpha puppies are taking their stand and the more intelligent or trainable
dogs start standing out. Each week after this the puppy becomes more
independent from its mother and what it will be as an adult will become
clearer. To reserve a puppy before this age is foolish although in the past I
have reserved puppies for people very early. I will not do this again where
money is exchanged. Only as a promise that if this puppy is still what you
want when it is 4 weeks old, then you can commit to this puppy by buying its
starter puppy kit. .
Please take note
Before you reserve a puppy you must be aware of a few facts. First no puppy
can legally be sold in this state without first receiving a health certificate from
a licensed veterinarian. These are expensive and can range in price from $35
to $100 per puppy. These must be updated as the next puppy shots become
due for the puppy. A new certificate is issued each time costing more money,
time, and stress. On top of this a puppy is harder to sell as they get older and
often times the price is reduced because of this. Money is always lost when a
puppy is reserved and not picked up by its promised family.
The next thing to consider is the puppy itself. Many people dont think about it
but the puppy has very little puppy time in them. They grow quickly. The
younger you can possible get a puppy in its new home the quicker it bonds
with its family and the happier the puppy is. The older a puppy gets, the better
their memory becomes and the more they retain from their breeder home and
what they learned from being there. This can cause some confusion for the
puppy trying to learn what is expected of it in its new home environment.
Responsible breeders have already started some puppy training before you
get the puppy. This instills in them the mindset that rules are to be followed.
This is important. But the puppy must adjust to each home he goes to. The
quicker he forgets his former home and its rules, the happier he is with his
new home and their rules. Better for everyone!!
So all us fair minded and responsible breeders unite in this one request. Let
us know the minute your life has changed and you cant get your puppy so a
new home can be found. If this is the case. Things happen in life and we all
understand this. But it is irresponsible to leave us hanging. So Please dont
do this.
Please pick your puppy up on time
Because I have had some problems with this I must make these rules. I will
post when the puppies will be 8 weeks old. Its best to make sure you will be
able to pay for your puppy at this time. I will never hand over a puppy without
first receiving the money. I will get the health certificate when they are 8
weeks or soon after. It will never be sooner then this. Once the puppy has
passed its health exam, I will inform you that its ready to go home. The money
is due the day I receive the health certificate and you have been informed
that the puppy is ready. YOU MUST CONTACT ME WITHIN 3 DAYS AFTER I GET
THE HEALTH CERTIFICATE. Once you have talked to me about when you will
get your puppy, you will have 7 days to pay for and pick up your puppy. This
includes weekends.  If I don't hear from you in the 3 days after the puppy is
ready to go, I will offer the puppy for sale and your hold on this puppy will be
void. If you contact me after this and I sold the puppy and you did not receive
a puppy kit I will refund your money paid for the kit.
I reserve the right to resell a puppy who is not picked up on time. If this is the
case, once I sell the puppy, i will return any money paid to me in a payment
arrangement minus money lost and minus money paid for the puppy kit.  If you
wish me to hold the puppy longer I will do so but I will charge a $5 a day
boarding fee. This will include all wormings as they come due. But updated
shots must be paid for by the purchaser. All puppies must be paid for when
they are received or by the end of the 10 day period after the puppy receives
its health certificate.  All boarding fees must be paid when puppy is picked up.
I do make exceptions to this if the puppy must be held for a special occasion.
Please communicate with me about your needs in this regards.  We will work
something out if necessary. Your understanding is appreciated in this matter.
Leaving me without knowledge as to your plans once the puppy is ready to go
to its home is not fair to me or to the puppy. Please don't do this!
I do not sell to puppy brokers. If I find out that a puppy broker
has reserved one of my puppies, I will not finish the sale and
all money paid will be refunded.
