I wanted to make this Website a place for people in central Florida area to find a pet directly from a
breeder as opposed to going to a pet store and finding one. Its so easy to fall in love with that puppy or
bunny in the pet store and pay the high price and take your pet home. Hopefully everything will turn
out fine. Often it does not. Ive had heard so many heartbroken people tell me their stories after buying
their pet at a pet store and how this pet either died or had such big problems that they had to spend
large amounts of money to veterinarians to help the pet survive. You can save time and money by
buying your pet from a responsible breeder.
To many pet store buy their animals from pet mills. Most of us have seen the horror stories on
television about these breeders and are shocked. But most people don't know that this is the kind of
places most pet stores get their pets. The reason is because the pet stores can get the animal less
expensively then they can from a private breeder and thus more profit is made. They are counting on
the fact that some of the animals will be fine but also that most people will not know they can sue the
store for selling diseased animals. It is working for the stores or it would not be happening. All the
consumer can do is refuse to buy from stores who refuse to prove to us where they get there pets
from. I mean details. Not that they ship them in from up north. Details like, the name of the breeding
facility, phone numbers and address. That is not to much to ask. After all you are buying a family
member who will hopefully be with you for many years.
Not all private breeders are responsible either. On this website I attempt to advertise for responsible
breeders only. I do know some of the breeders personally but some I have never met. I will never
knowingly advertise for a puppy mills or anyone who does not take excellent care of their animals. You
as a consumer should do your part to determine if the breeder is responsible. When you buy apples
you would not buy one that has brown spots and looks diseased. You examine each apple and
choose the ones that look the best. You should take this much care when you choose the breeder
your puppy comes from. Just as the outside of an apple tells you about the health of the fruit inside,
you can tell a lot about the pet your buying by the looks of the breeding facility your pet comes from.
So visit them. Be choosy.
The more money we give to pet mills and to irresponsible breeders, the more animal abuse that will go
on in these breeding facilities. You can do your part to help reduce the amount of abuse that goes on
by refusing to give them any more money.
